So what exactly is a squeeze page?

In this video, I explain what exactly is a squeeze page, a term which I have used quite a bit as I speak “Marketing lingo” all the time :-)

what-is-a-squeeze-pageA squeeze page is a website or webpage that gives your web visitors one option only and that is to submit their name and email address in a form in order to get a free resource in return. In other words, you are squeezing or directing them to take YOUR desired action. YOUR desired action is to capture their information so that you can market to them via email. A squeeze page should not have Tabs or Navigation menus that can distract the visitor from taking that one desired action.

The best way to get your web visitor to take that desired action is to offer them a free exciting resource. The resource has to be enticing enough to get them to want to sign up for yet another email list. The headline that invites the web visitor to sign up for the resource should ideally speak to a solution that the target audience is seeking. So the goal of the squeeze page is to convert visitors into leads by way of a free offer.

A Landing Page is quite similar. A landing page is a lead capture page that a visitor is directed to after being prompted via an Online Ad, Search Engine Ad or some other referral link. The main goal here is to convert the visitors into leads or result in a sale. So a landing page can be a free offer or a paid offer or product.

Your free offer is a resource that you create and make accessible via your Squeeze page, landing page or website after someone gives you their information. The information that is usually solicited is the visitors name and email address.

And finally, your free offer can be comprised of various forms. A few examples are: a video series, a free report, a webinar, a teleseminar, an ebook or a combination of the above in the form of a kit or bundle.

Ideally you should have more than one squeeze page. One on your main website and a separate squeeze page as a standalone. The more ways you create to attract leads the more chances you have of growing your email list. This gets your community growing and allows you to build a pipeline of potential customers or clients.
