3 Free Online HTML Editors for DIYers

As you may know by now, I am a BIG fan of WordPress.org. Thanks to WordPress.org, many small businesses are now able to get an affordable website online. Many are able to get their business websites online and maintain it without hiring a web designer at all. I am proud to say that I am one of them. I taught myself WordPress.org and have used it to get all my current sites on the web.

Thanks to WordPress.org, those who do not know HTML, don’t need to know it in order to have functional and attractive websites. WordPress.org‘s visual editor looks very much like the dashboard or toolbars in Microsoft Word.

My Top WordPress Plugins – Part 2

I wrote a blog post some time ago about my top 6 WordPress plugins for your blog. Much has changed in WordPress, social media and online since then, surprise, surprise. So I thought it was time for an update.

Here are my top WordPress plugins in addition to the ones or in some cases to replace the others mentioned before.

Akismet Popular and very effective plugin to protect your blog from comment spam. I actually use Akismet in addition to WP Spam Free which was mentioned in my previous post. I get an added benefit from Akismet which I use in my Contact form to prevent contact form spam as well.

All in One Webmaster Excellent, multi-purpose plugin. Useful for submitting your sitemap to various search engines including Google and Yahoo. One feature that I particularly like about this plugin is that it gives you a way to add your META Tag information without manually uploading code to your blog. META tag information is normally required to be added to your blog when you sign up for certain tools like Google and Bing Webmaster, Yahoo Site Explorer and Alexa. Finally, when you sign up for Google Analytics, an essential and free tracking and analytics tool, you can simply enter your Google Analytics ID instead of uploading lines of code.

5 Free Notification Header Bars for your blog

When people visit your blog, especially if it’s a business blog, you want people to take the desired action or next step. For some that next step is to opt-in to your email list, check out your new coaching program or product, attend your live or virtual event, subscribe to your RSS feed for blog post updates and more.

One of the many ways to get your blog visitor to take your desired action is by installing and using a Header Notification Bar. As the name suggests this is a ‘toolbar’ that is displayed at the top of your blog, above the header.

Here are 5 Notification Bars that I recommend:
